The Gap In Care

Bridging the Distance Between Need & Support

Before building, Raevn Tele begins with community — listening, learning, understanding lived experiences.  This commitment means recognizing truths of the histories of Indigenous people in Canada, honouring present-day realities and challenges, and shaping the future together.

Supports Exist

But Connection is Missing

Cancer care is currently the focus of Raevn Tele’s work because the gap is both clear and deeply nuanced. The need, support, and resources exist — yet connection between them is often broken. For many Indigenous individuals and families, navigating cancer care involves multiple layers — shaped by history, trust in systems, cultural safety, family responsibilities, confidentiality and complex stigmas.

These factors can disrupt the pathway between need and support. Raevn Tele begins here — to steward trust and help bridge connection in a way that feels grounded, respectful, and accessible.

Why Raevn Tele Exists

Bridging Connection to Care

Raevn Tele’s approach is grounded in three equally important parts: the tools we co-create, how they are built in relationship with community, and the stewardship of the knowledge they generate.

Together, this framework strengthens trust, supports connection, and ensures the work remains accountable to Indigenous data sovereignty and long-term community benefit.

Building these bridges means working in relationship with community and moving at the pace of trust.

This Work Unfolds Through Intentional Phases

The Roadmap

Phase 1 — Relationships & Foundations

Building relationships with communities, knowledge holders, and trusted collaborators to guide the work and ensure development begins grounded in trust, lived experience, and ethical engagement. This phase is ongoing as it is the underlying foundation of what Raevn Tele is — this work continues through collaboration, co-creation, and ongoing responsiveness to community voices.

Phase 2 — Community-Led Co-Design

A supported, participatory co-design process shapes the vision, priorities, and features of the platform through engagement sessions, feedback loops, and shared decision-making. This phase ensures the tools are relevant, culturally grounded, and responsive to real needs before development begins.

Phase 3— Build & Launch

Designing, developing, and launching the digital platform in ongoing collaboration. The work continues through pilots, feedback, and alignment with ethical data practices to ensure the platform is practical, meaningful, and ready for real-world use.

Phase 4 — Stewardship & Ongoing Engagement

Maintaining relationships, agreements, and connection through continued feedback and ethical data-stewardship— ensuring insights are shared back in ways that strengthen community benefit, autonomy, and long-term growth.
