Cancer

Navigation App

A culturally grounded navigation tool for Indigenous people facing cancer — and a resource for the health providers who care for them

Raevn Tele is currently developing a free mobile app in Alberta to support people through their cancer journey by:

  • Connecting users to private early screening and at-home care pathways
  • Offering culturally safe, guided support to both those diagnosed, their caregivers and healthcare providers seeking to strengthen culturally informed care
  • Providing access to trusted resources and community-informed knowledge
  • Creating space for optional, consent-based story sharing to inform stronger systems

It is simple, private, accessible, and free — allowing individuals, caregivers, and providers to access and engage with information and support from their own homes, at their own pace.

The app is organized into a few key pathways that filter information so that people only see what is specific, helpful, and relevant to them

At Home Cancer Screening & Early Detection Resources

This section brings together reliable at-home screening options, early detection resources, and links to Indigenous virtual healthcare providers — intentionally gathered in one place.

Why this app is different than other supports

For many Indigenous patients and families, navigating cancer care can feel overwhelming and isolating. This app gathers vetted, specific resources and guidance in one place so you can explore supports privately, revisit information anytime, and move forward with greater clarity — knowing what resources and supports you are eligible for. Professional and culturally grounded guidance available from your own home — on your time, as you need it, with complete privacy and anonymity.

Your voice matters  You don’t need to share everything — even a few words helps. You can stay anonymous and share only what feels comfortable

You can share in a simple way:

  • Answer 1 or 2 short questions (below)
  • Write a few words, a sentence, or more about your experience — whatever feels right
  • Stay anonymous if you wish — no name or email is required.
Your answers directly shape this app — helping build something real for others to find support when they need it most.
What do you wish was easier during your cancer experience?  patient or caregiver

Were there supports and resources you only found out about after the fact — that you wish you knew about earlier?

What would have helped you feel more supported, understood or guided?

Your voice helps show why this needs to exist.

If you are open to sharing, you can complete a short, anonymous 3 minute guided reflection below

While this app is currently being developed for Alberta due to regional relevance, we welcome and value stories from individuals accross all provinces. Your voice matters — and will help shape the future of brining this support to your province next.
